Creative Residencies: Our Prices
Crag Pit Studios CIC is a non-profit organisation committed to supporting and developing the performing arts and nurturing the creative eco-system of the UK. We support theatre makers, writers, musicians and multi-disciplinary creatives, providing comfortable accommodation, kitchen and living space, a large rehearsal room, wood workshop, arts and crafts rooms as well as the stunning serene gardens and local nature.
We are open from September to May each year and we give residencies on a weekly basis. Please contact us for more information or to request an interview.
The pricing is based on where you are at in your professional journey. There are three tiers: Professional Hires, Artist in Residence and The New Seedlings Award.
PROFESSIONAL HIRES
Tall Trees Have Deep Roots
For established companies and individual in the creative industry who can pay our standard rates for rehearsal space and accommodation. We are a non-profit organisation so by choosing to come to us then your investment will be going to help smaller companies and to keep Crag Pit running! Just contact us to request availability.
RATES FOR CRAG PIT STUDIOS:
From £950 per week

- £950/week (1-2 people) with 2 private bedrooms
- £1350/week (6-8 people) Up to 6 private bedrooms – including 2 double bedrooms with desk space
- £4000/week (11-20 people) Up to 11 private rooms. Full House Rental.
- 12x6m Barn Rehearsal Room included.
- Large shared kitchen, dining room and living space
- Small private kitchenette
- Four bathrooms with two showers
- Wood workshop

ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Diversifying the Eco-System
We host a number of Artists in Residence each year who come on our subsidised rates. The reduction in price can be used as ‘in-kind’ support for funding applications.

- £350/week (2-4 people) with 2 shared bedrooms
- £450/week (6 people) with 3 shared bedrooms
- Additional private double bedroom in main house at £175/week per room

To be considered contact us and ask for an interview. We welcome people from all different backgrounds and ways of working. You must be a committed creative practitioner with at least some track record. You must be based in the UK or Ireland, though you are welcome to bring an international team. NEW SEEDLINGS AWARD
Supporting Early Development
New seeds need a bit more water, light and extra attention to take root. Much like new graduates, new companies, new ideas, new collaborations and new voices. Every year we will be opening submissions and give one solo-writer and one group the opportunity for free space at Crag Pit Studios. The Award is particularly focused on supporting local creatives in Suffolk and under-represented voices in the arts.

Submissions for 2026/2027 are now closed. They will open in July 2027 for the 27/28 season.
